Paul Arntz started playing at the age of thirteen. Thanks to his extremely supportive parents and band members he was able to start his professional career at fourteen. "My high school band instructor had a rock/metal band. We played the local club scene just about every weekend." Early influences include Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Bob Daisly (Ozzy Osbourne), Geddy Lee (Rush) and Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath). Completely consumed with music, he began independent theory study with "Harmonic Materials in Tonal Music a Programmed Course" by Paul O. Harder during his senior year.
After high school Paul attended Spring Arbor University where he spent two years concentrating on theory and composition. He continued to play weekly in local metal bands. He received the invitation to join Jason Steele, the area's most popular act just after college. During this time he was also a member of a local original music favorite The Beat Junkies.
At age twenty five Paul made the move to Nashville, TN. Working in clubs in the evening and sessions during the day he honed his craft. During this time he also studied under John Patitucci.
After two years of building a session career, fellow studio musician Eric Horner extended the invitation to "play a few dates" with country star Lee Greenwood. Except for a few pauses to explore other possibilities Paul has been a member of Lee Greenwood's band ever since. Over the last eight years he has also played on many master recordings and countless demo recordings. In the last 4 years he has began producing demos at his studio in Hermitage, TN
